Location: This is a full remote job (only when a special exception occurs)
A Service Desk engineer is the key interface between the customer Nationale Politie and the underlying Atos support team, providing a large and high available private cloud environment. Providing 7*24 support. Working in a 5-shift rotation.
The Service Desk is responsible for:
- Interface between Atos and the Operational Control Room of the Nationale Politie
- Monitoring and safeguard the Generieke Infrastructure’s private cloud environment.
- Incident, standard change & problem handling on L1/L2 level
- Properly dispatch requests to L3 support teams.
- Execution of Daily production activities (patching, reporting, monitoring activities…)
Restrictions for our customer:
- Must be screened by AIVD (Dutch homeland security)
- Must live in The Netherlands
- Must speak/write/read Fluent Dutch
- Can be asked to work on premises
- Works in 5 shifts according to the following scheme:
DD-MM-NN-VVVV
- D 06:00-14:30
- M 14:00 – 22:30
- N 22:00 – 06:30
- V Free
The soft skills must haves:
- Experience working as a L1/2 engineer in similar environments (Large Dell/Vmware private cloud with HA and DR)
- Team player
- Good communication skills towards teams and customer.
- Stress resistant
- Can create, read, and adjust documentation.
Hard skills must haves:
- Experience with working in a large VMware cloud. (over 10 Vcenters) and more than 500 physical servers.
- Experience with VSAN
- Experience with VSAN ready nodes
- Knowledge of services like IaaS, PaaS and their differences
- Knowledge of either windows server or Linux Redhat.
- Vmware Vrops and Loginsight
Hard skills pre or willing to learn:
- Experience working with Confluence, Gitlab
- Experience with VXBlock
- Dell Openmanage
- Vmware Vrops and loginsight
